  ***Since the Rajasthani and Bollywood choreographies will already be completed by Section 3, participation in Sections 1 and 2 is strongly recommended. 

  For this reason, drop-in registration for Section 3 will only be available to students who have attended either Section 1 or Section 2.

Rajasthani 14:00-15:00 : 

INITIATION to the basic rhythms of Rajasthani folk music.

In our Rajasthani dance class with live musicians from DHOAD, we awaken your inner joy and invite you to use your body as an instrument for “becoming the music.” Through the oral tradition techniques of Indian music, you will learn to feel the groove within the rhythm and dance the choreography with rhythmic Rajasthani footwork, expressive hand gestures, and facial expressions that convey the lyrics of the song: the love between husband and wife in Rajasthan.

Bollywood 15:00-16:00 :

INITIATION to the basics of bodily expression behind the lyrics in Bollywood dance.

We invite you to see yourself not just as a dancer, but as the heroine of the film. Through an understanding of the Indian spirit expressed in facial expressions and eye movements, aligned with the choreography and lyrics, you will discover a new side of yourself, awakened through an encounter with a new dimension of Indian culture.
